Fall 2024 Classes Coming June 2024

Classes consist of team and individual robotics with an emphasis on problem-solving, logic, and collaboration. The core materials for the class include Lego WeDo 2.0. Two curriculum paths will be provided depending on the student(s) skill and experience.

The first path will focus on an introduction to basic mechanical design and an introduction to programming logic completing a number of selected projects created by Lego Education. The second path will be provided for returning students. These projects are instructor created, more technical, and require a higher level of student independence.

In addition to these two curriculum paths, the whole classroom will periodically work together on team robotics tasks.

All SFTA robotics courses are built on the foundation of encouraging the curiosity and creativity needed to become a lifelong learner.

School For The Arts Fall Term Robotics Classes are Age Based by Instruction Level

Fall 2024 Classes Coming June 2024

In this multi-age, multi-level robotics workspace students will explore both individual and team problem-solving through various robotics related activities. The robotics platforms are primarily Lego and Arduino based.

Our intermediate path students will use a Lego based program to explore building and programming using Lego Mindstorm. Our advanced path students will use Arduino’s microcontroller, exploring selected activities from SparkFun’s very broad C/C++ programming curriculum.

Throughout the course of the class students will be encouraged to approach problem-solving activities with logic, creativity, and collaboration. Extended learning activities are readily available and will be assigned as needed. All School For The Arts robotics courses are built on the foundation of encouraging the curiosity and creativity needed to become a lifelong learner.
