  • Step into the exciting world of theatrical direction with In The Director’s Chair. This course allows participants to discover the key elements that transform a script into a compelling stage production. Students will learn to analyze scenes, guide actors, and make creative decisions to shape the story’s vision. Hands-on activities and collaborative exercises foster leadership, confidence, and teamwork. By the end of the class, each participant will have the chance to direct scenes and experience the thrill of calling the shots.

    Students enrolled in SFTA performance classes will be required to participate in a casting audition, which will serve as the primary method for determining each individual's role within our upcoming productions. Enrollment in an SFTA performance class guarantees that the student will be included in the production, ensuring every participant has an opportunity to contribute their talent on stage. These auditions will be conducted during regular class time and are specifically structured to allow the instructional team to thoughtfully consider and assign roles based on each student's unique strengths and abilities. To facilitate thorough preparation, casting sides will be distributed approximately one week before the commencement of classes.

  • Let's Act! Performance Class (Ages 7 and up) is the perfect introduction to acting for young performers. Through lively games, imaginative exercises, and playful scene work, students build essential skills in voice, movement, and character creation. The supportive class environment encourages self-expression while helping each child grow in confidence. As the term progresses, students prepare for an end-of-session showcase where they shine on stage for family and friends. Every participant leaves with new friendships and wonderful memories of their acting journey.

  • Older children ready for a challenge will find inspiration in the Let's Act! Performance Class (Ages 9 and up). This class offers deeper study of acting techniques, including advanced character development and script analysis. Participants work collaboratively on scenes, honing teamwork skills and learning to give and receive direction. The course culminates in a performance that highlights each student’s talents. Students finish the class with heightened stage presence and a richer understanding of dramatic arts.

  • Growing in Drama Camp sparks imagination and teamwork through a variety of theatre activities. Kids explore storytelling, improvisation, and expressive movement in a welcoming camp environment. Throughout the camp, participants engage in creative games and group projects that foster friendship and self-confidence. Drama lessons focus on nurturing each child’s unique talents and encouraging creative risk-taking. By the end, campers leave with stronger communication skills and a deep love for performance.

  • Musical Audition Camp gives students the tools and techniques to stand out at any musical theatre audition. Campers receive expert coaching in singing, acting, and building an audition repertoire. Focused workshops teach how to select audition songs, interpret lyrics, and deliver performances with impact. Guidance on stage presence and overcoming audition nerves helps campers present their best selves. Each participant leaves camp poised to make a lasting impression at future auditions.
