Ann Marie Theis Ressler has been performing and teaching music for the last 15 years. As a soloist, she has performed around the world, including appearances at the John F. Ann Marie Theis received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance, with a minor in piano, from Michigan State University.

After graduating from Michigan State, she worked at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as an Associate Instructor of Voice and Assistant Director of the Graduate Opera Theater Workshop. During her time at Indiana, she studied voice pedagogy and developed a passion for teaching young voices. This passion led her back to the K–12 classroom, where she taught middle school and high school choir and theater for five years. Her choirs regularly received Division I ratings at Michigan School Vocal Music Association choral festivals.

In addition to her work in music education, Ann Marie spent four years working in finance and technology as a relationship manager, consultant, and corporate trainer. Her consulting experience focused on user experience design and helping make financial concepts and technology more accessible and easier to understand. Her background in both education and business has strengthened her ability to communicate complex ideas in engaging and approachable ways.

Ann Marie has also received awards and recognition from the GRAMMY Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, and Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History for her creative and innovative teaching. She has experience teaching secondary general music, early childhood music, and ASD music, and has presented at district and statewide music conferences. Ann Marie currently maintains her Michigan K–12 music teaching license.
